Care of Pearls
Maintenance Method
Pearls are particularly delicate gemstones among jewels.
The main component of pearls, calcium carbonate, is characterized by its weakness to acids, heat, and water.
If sweat and dust are left on the surface, it can cause loss of luster and discoloration.
Therefore, in order to use it beautifully for a long time, proper storage and maintenance methods are necessary.
It is important to avoid leaving pearls in extreme light, heat, or humid environments.
Please avoid places with high humidity as well as extremely dry areas. Also, avoid storing near chemicals such as insecticides or cosmetics.
For storage, please keep it in a case or similar and ensure it does not come into contact with other gemstones. This will help prevent scratches that can occur from contact with other stones.
Additionally, if you do not use it often and do not wear it frequently, we recommend occasionally taking the pearls out of the case or storage and gently polishing them with a soft cloth.
Especially after use, sweat will be attached to the surface of the pearl.
The trace amounts of acid contained in sweat accumulate over time when left uncleaned and repeatedly used, gradually damaging the pearls.
After wearing, be sure to polish the pearls with a soft glasses cloth or similar cloth to ensure optimal care for the pearls.
If the thread or wire of the necklace becomes loose, or if the beads of earrings, piercings, or rings seem to be coming off, please feel free to consult with us.
Maintenance of pearls is the most important on a daily basis.
[When you are particularly concerned about dirt]
After wiping the dirty areas with a soft cloth that has been wrung out with lukewarm water, be sure to dry it with a dry soft cloth.
Since dirt tends to accumulate on the part where the metal fittings and pearls are in contact, be sure to take extra care when cleaning.
